Food was delicious. Especially the appetizers. In all, we had the crab cakes, calamari and the fish and chips. Wine selection and the way it’s displayed also impressed us.

Excellent food , wonderful fresh fish . The service is very friendly and the ambiance joyful! My first meal in Ireland and I really enjoy!

Great and friendly service, reasonable prices and good location. Best fish dishes I have ever eaten, well presented and tasty. Well done.

Eaten here before, enjoyed the restaurant on previous trips and wasn’t disappointed this time either. The place gets very busy even early in the evening. Not many tables so would encourage people to book.Offers a good choice of fish, seafood and meat dishes. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food is cooked and presented well. Parking in front of the restaurant, otherwise parking close by.

I took my family to The Oar House on December 28th, 2017. We are: three adults and three teenagers. The wait staff – and there were several – were all pleasant and professional. Two of the adults in our party drank house wines – one red, the other white. Both were good. The red was medium dry, smooth finish. The white was described as “refreshing”. We had oysters on the half shell for apps. They tasted good and fresh. Two of the teenagers ordered the fish and chips. They looked like generous portions. I had the fish pie. Oh, my! It was topped with mashed potato and filled with creamy sauce and chunks of fish. So good! The roasted cherry tomatoes on the top were a nice, tasty touch. Everyone was happy with their meals. We ordered a variety of desserts and specialty coffees. Nothing disappointed. I highly recommend this restaurant – without hesitation.

Its a while since I’ve been in the Oar House but I’m glad to say its still as good as ever. The food is top class and the staff are excellent.

I liked this restaurant. Mussels were incredibly cooked, fish is fresh and desserts are perfect. The experience is superb, worth going.

No trip to Ireland is complete without a visit to The Oar House before we fly or sail back to the UK.

Today we had another excellent meal, crab cakes, spicy king prawns with sourdough bread and a mountain of skinny fries – all delicious and beautifully cooked. All washed down by an excellent wine – Cote De Gascone – highly recommended. We always say we must try somewhere else in Howth and then worry that it wouldn’t be as good, so back we go.

Great food, attentive service and whilst a little expensive – as the saying goes ‘you get what you pay for’. A must if in Howth!
